We spent four days in this hôtel and we've been welcomed like we were part of familly. Genie, our excursion's planer were very kind and helpfull. She gave us many tips and was aware at all of our needs. Small hotel but you will feel like at home.
We had got to Freeport just after hurricane Dorian. There was a lot of damage but the staff at Bell Channel did a lot to accommodate us. Genie and Lisbeth were great at arranging our activities, scuba and swimming with pigs, as well as arranging transportation. You can count on them to to help you with anything. Also, great food at the restaurant and top notch scuba excursion service. I would definitely like to stay there again. I highly recommend Bell Channel Inn.
Me and my family recently visited Bell Channel and had a great experience, Genie was very helpful toward planning our 3 days at the bahamas. We had a great stay and I would recommend this to anyone who is visiting.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights and were SO happy we did. We looked at other higher-end resorts that weren't in our budget and then found Bell Channel. Super affordable, very clean, extremely friendly and helpful staff, and very cute. We enjoyed our room. It had all the amenities we needed. The free wifi was super fast. The restaurant was good. Not mind-blowing amazing food, but good none-the-less. The hotel was only a 15 minute walk to the downtown area and beach.
But the best thing about the hotel was the staff. When we got there we were introduced to Genie, who was in charge of guest services and excursions. She made sure to tell us everything we needed to know about the hotel, the area, and excursions. She was very thorough and detailed. It really seemed like she cared about our safety and well being. She gave us a tour of the hotel, went through all the excursions that were available, and told us how to get downtown. She made sure to tell us not to walk at night, but rather get a cab for our safety. She would call us in the mornings (not too early) to see if we wanted to book an excursion that she remembered we showed interest in so she could get us a driver. On our last day, we had to take our luggage with us to an excursion where it would be left with the driver while we were at the beach, which my boyfriend and I were concerned about. We didn't want our luggage with our personal belongings and valuables left with someone we didn't know. Genie understood our concern and was concerned as well. She expressed our concern to the driver very clearly. She even called the restaurant we were at during our excursion to talk to us to make sure we were happy and still had everything, which was super sweet. She really went out of her way to make sure we had a good time and were safe. Genie made our stay super special and we would DEFINITELY recommend Bell Channel to anyone going to Freeport.
My son and I recently stayed here and had a wonderful experience. Our room was clean and the restaurant was awesome. Staff was friendly and Genie was very helpful in planning our excursions. Highly recommend!
This is a great hotel, charming and full of life, I loved staying there for a weekend with friends, the Bahamas are a great destination and this hotel too. The restaurant is also very good, I really recommend this hotel

The Bell Channel Inn hotel is perfect, the room was perfectly clean and the staff extremely helpful ! Everybody is smiling all day ! The swimming pool is very nice to chill after the beach :)
We were lucky to meet Genie ! She is so nice and she tries to give her best for us ! she organized our all trip ! I hope that you will have the chance to meet her !
The rooms were lovely and spacious. The iced lemon water in reception was a lovely touch. Genie the tour operator was brilliant. She sat down with us and went through our sight seeing options. She escorted us to the bonfire and the whole family had a fantastic time.
This is the 3rd time we have stayed at the Bell Channel Inn and to our surprise there have been some upgrades in the rooms. We crossed over in our boats from FL (3 rooms booked) and the rooms were ready at 1:30pm as expected. The staff are ALWAYS pleasant and helpful with smiles on their faces. When we checked into our room it smelled lemony fresh and they had the AC and fan running for us. The beds are extremely comfortable, showers are hot and AC is cold! The upgrades to the rooms were lamps on the bed side tables with USB charger ports, coffee machines, safes and irons in every room. Previously you could request an iron or coffee machine. Such great additions and nice to see them adding on helpful items. We have had all meals (Br, Lu, Dinner) at the hotel and while the menu isn't overly extensive, the classic items that they do have are fantastic. I can't say enough about how you can't judge a book by it's cover. Most people think that this isn't as nice as some of the other hotels in the area, but it's quiet, clean and the staff are amazing. You can't go wrong when staying here!!!
After I checked in, I was greeted by Genie, who was extremely pleasant and helpful in getting me settled in the room. She also made certain that we took advantage of the other weekly dinners/celebrations at various nearby locations.. I had a blast and I don't remember laughing so very much. The hotel has a great view of the waterway, is not far from the beaches and has a famous restaurant on the premises. I felt like I was treated like family !! Please Note: some rooms are being remodeled ..
Words can not describe how much I appreciated the friendly staff. They truly make me feel like a family. I traveled solo and booked some scuba trips as a package deal with the hotel stay. The staff kept checking on me, making sure I have something to do on the island when some of my scuba trips got canceled due to the weather. I booked some side tours with Genie at a much cheaper price I found online. She arranged her friend to pick me up and drop me off at the location, she even stayed at the event with me to keep my company for 3 hours! The hotel room I stayed has a great view of the marina. It is also very spacious and clean. I am very happy to choose this hotel on my Grand Bahama vacation. Everything went so well.

Genie was awesome she took very good care of us she kept us busy with fun activities that our family enjoyed ,she made sure we were taken good care of with the best drivers and staff , she also checked in on us ,she was the sweetest person we’ve ever dealt with we will definitely go back and visit!!!!!!!!! I would recommend this place to anyone coming to visit the Bahamas
We arrived early am for a one night stay and to go diving the day we arrived. We were welcomed by the office staff and Presley the dive captain let us know that the winds and the weather were not going to be conducive to diving that day but if it changed we could go out in the morning.
Genie made us feel comfortable and spoke with us on possible outing options for the day as we waited for our room to be ready. No uncomfortable high pressure to book you on any day trips just helpful information with options. We were made to feel comfortable and well cared for during our wait. When our room was ready, Genie walked us to the room and it was clean and bright with a new room ac system, mini frig, microwave and coffee maker.
We had stayed at this hotel previously and the room was completely updated with new tile in the bathroom, rain shower head, big tv with rook, room safe and much more.
The food at the restaurant was very good and local favorites are offered. The staff are attentive and are willing to let you have it your way.
After the dive the day of departure we were allowed to keep our room to clean up and pack. We spoke with Genie and she arranged our travel back to the catch out travel back off the island with Michael the taxi driver. Michael was at the hotel on time, friendly and helpful.
Lisbeth helped us book our next trip over and setup our dives. I look forward to my next visit.
The weather was beautiful the day we got there, but the next couple of days that wind and rain was crazy. We didn’t get to dive, but that’s okay because Genie hooked us up with all kinds of activities plus getting us transportation. Food at the restaurant is a local’s favorite, so you know it’s good. Rooms are simple but sparkling, lemon-y clean and maintained. Staff is friendly and they remember your names. :)
Our group stayed here 1 night before we went on a livaboard to Tiger Beach and the staff was extremely accommodating! They let us keep our luggage together in one room after checkout which was very helpful with all the gear for diving that we had. Food was great and location was very good also!
Very nice hotel. They accommodated a large group of us. Everything was really nice. Highly recommend. Restaurant food is good, they have a pool and a dive boat. Rooms were clean and a/c worked well. It’s a 15 minute walk to food and shopping, or you need a cab.

Rooms are very clean. Bell Channel is centrally located and very close to wonderful swimming beaches. The in=room safe was a bonus.
Bell Channel Inn is a very cozy spot placed close to beaches and Port Lucaya. Nice rooms and very friendly staff. Also a very nice hotel to visit if you plan on diving - The Caribbean Divers do dives directly from the canal which are placed at the hotel. Can highly recommend both the hotel and the dive shop!
Comfortable hotel, good location, secure, and the hospitality was excellent. Food was some of the best I had on the island too. Will go back there for sure. Room and an awesome view too. It was very good for the price.
I had to book a last minute hotel after a very stressful business trip and was delighted to find the Bell Channel Inn. I was greeted by the friendliest, most helpful staff ever and felt looked after from the get go!
The food in the restaurant was great. The room itself was large, comfortable and very clean. Exactly what I needed, would highly recommend.
Genie is just awesome and will treat you like family (like a mom). We weren't sure what to expect from Freeport and we were really grateful for Bell Channel Inn and Genie. Before we arrived, we had booked one excursion (on our own) that ended up being a bit lame, so word to the wise: book everything via Genie - not only will she recommend the best of the best, she'll also make sure you get a discount AND a ride. She'll also set you up with free drinks and conch fritters to welcome you.
Genie went out of her way to make sure we had a great time and were taken care of - and even set us up with a ride to the airport from the Gardens (with our baggage also arranged for). The Bell Channel Inn is in a good location for the Marketplace (which is a great place to visit), and anything that needs a ride is either set up by Genie or the company hosting you.
The WiFi was terrible but that likely was due to an access point falling in the water (based on their response to another recent review). Unlucky timing for us, but was the only negative for our stay - and thankfully you won't need a ton of Internet when visiting the Bahamas.
The restaurant is excellent and reasonably priced. The rooms were a lot more spacious than we expected, tile flooring (for all of the sand you will likely trek into the room), and a decent mini-kitchen with a sink, mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. Our room faced the Harbour, maybe they all do, and it was a really beautiful view.
Freeport is struggling from Hurricane Matthew and you can see many other establishments have not recovered - Bell Channel Inn's continued success is 100% thanks to their service. That is evidence of their dedication to their customers and providing a great experience.
We stayed for a week over New Year and it was great! We had a large room with a massive bed, TV, good air con and balcony overlooking the water. There was also a fridge and coffee making facilities in the room. It was clean with fresh towels daily and we had everything we needed.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Genie gave us lots of information about the local area and arranged transport for us as well as booking us onto some tours.
The hotel is a 15min walk from Port Lucaya and the beach and a 20min walk to the supermarket.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to friends and family, and especially to first time visitors to the Bahamas as Genie and ll the staff were so helpful!
