Port Lucaya Straw Market


The Port Lucaya Marketplace is the largest shopping, dining and entertainment open air facility in the Gran Bahama, with over forty specialty stores and boutiques, sixteen restaurants to tempt any palate and four bars/lounge for late night entertainment. The Marketplace boasts of a wide variety of Duty Free stores, two generously stocked Straw Markets filled with Bahamian crafts and souvenir items.

BAHAMIAN FISH FRY


When in Grand Bahama, visiting the island's Fish Fry at Smith's Point is a MUST - happening only on Wednesdays! 
Here, you will met locals and tourists alike, relaxing and enjoying the beautiful sunset by the beach. Starting from 6 PM, you have the opportunity to dine, socialize and join in the dance party which happens as the night progresses.

Barbary Beach



Across the canal from Freeport is Barbary Beach, a wonderful location that rewards those willing to make the trip. You’ll need to drive here, and keep a sharp eye for the turnout, which isn’t as well marked as some of the more popular spots. Still, its secluded location among rock jetties make it a great place for finding large conch shells and embracing the feeling of getting away from it all.

Take a deep breath and close your eyes. Hear the sound of the rolling waves. Feel the powdery, white sand in between your toes.

GARDEN OF THE GROVES


The Garden of the Groves features exotic and native vegetation, ponds and waterfalls as well as birds and butterflies. High up on the hill is a replica of Freeport's first chapel which Mr. Groves, the founder of Freeport, built in the Pineridge lumber camp.

LUCAYAN NATIONAL PARK


The Lucayan National Park has great historical and cultural significance. The Lucayan Caverns—over six miles of caves, caverns and charted tunnels—is one of the longest underwater cave systems in the world! Part of the protected park is Gold Rock Beach, which supports Grand Bahama's mangrove ecosystem and features a spectacular variety of tropical vegetation.
This beach is also where Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed!
